The category filter of the "Link transfers" window was a native select.
It now takes the compact CategoryCombobox, modelled on the Transactions
filter bar: "Any category" first as an extra option, active while the
filter is empty, and picking it sets the filter back to null; the list
of transactions reloads as before.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Each line of the adjustment form chose its category in a native select
showing raw names. It now takes the compact CategoryCombobox of the
split window: typing filters, hierarchical order, seed names
translated. A new line still takes the first category of the list.
D2: the hook reads the Transactions list, getAllCategories (active and
open to input), instead of its own query on every active category. The
list feeds two pickers only, the form and the split window of the
Adjustments page; the detail view names a line's category from the
entries' join, so a line saved on a category hidden from input keeps
its name there and its value, its field empty until changed.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The open list of CategoryCombobox was positioned `absolute` inside its
input's container, so a scrolling ancestor clipped it: the body of the
split window, the `overflow-x-auto` wrapper of the Transactions table.
It is now rendered in a portal on document.body, `position: fixed`, at
z-[300] (above every window, the highest at z-[210]).
The pure rule lives in placeListbox.ts: under the input, as wide as it,
4 px below; above it when the room below is short of the list's 240 px
and the room above has them; below when neither side has them. The
list is placed in a layout effect before the first paint, then follows
the input on every scroll (capture phase, any scrolling container) and
resize while it is open, skipping scrolls of the list itself; the
listeners are removed with the list (followAnchor returns the cleanup).
The outside press counts the list as inside, since it no longer sits in
the container's DOM. The closed markup is unchanged.

Settings → System now orders its sections Version, Update, Logs, version
history, data notice: the Journal is reachable without scrolling past the
whole changelog, which grows at each release.
The version history opens on the installed version's notes, every other
version folded behind its title (a button with aria-expanded, a chevron and
aria-controls), with an Expand all / Collapse all button. An empty
Unreleased heading is hidden; one with content (development build) stays.
State is a local Set seeded by a pure rule, in memory only.
parseChangelog moves unchanged to src/utils/changelog.ts with the rule:
installed version unfolded, or the first published version when the
installed one is unknown or absent; a published version is told from the
Unreleased / Non publié heading by its shape, so both languages read alike.
SystemsSettingsPage mounts ChangelogContent once getVersion() settles; a
failure is written to the Journal and leaves the version unknown.

On desktop, tauri-plugin-dialog 2.6.0 replaces window.confirm with an async
function: confirm(...) returned a Promise, always truthy, so every guard
`if (!confirm(...)) return;` let the action run before the user answered.
Deleting a secondary profile removed its database even on "Cancel".
- confirmAction() (src/services/confirmService.ts) calls the plugin's ask()
with a warning icon and buttons labelled in the app language
(common.confirm / common.cancel); a failed call resolves false and is
logged (fail closed). @tauri-apps/plugin-dialog 2.6.0 added, the crate's
version.
- The six sites await it: profile, category, adjustment, budget template and
Balance category deletions, and both confirmations of the license key
removal (performRemoveLicense takes an async confirm).
- native-dialog-guard.test.ts fails on any native confirm/alert in src/ and
on any confirmation not awaited (TypeScript does not flag `!promise`).
- Tests: confirmService, the deletion of a profile in ProfileFormModal, and
the license removal tests with an async confirm (test: reproduces #421:
six of them were red on the old code).

Review of PR #452 (comment 24129): "adjustments" was written three
times for the split (the page's gate, the button's edition, the
dialog's locked screen). SPLIT_FEATURE in splitGate.ts is now the one
source, so moving the split to its own key or to Premium is a one-line
change. No behaviour change; setting it to "budget" turns 2 tests red.

Review of PR #452 (comment 24129): the upgrade to Base checked that the
upsell goes away, not that no split window appears in its place, so a
locked click that also armed the split window (R14) left the suite
green. Both edition changes now assert the other window stays closed,
during the license refresh and after it.
R14 now turns 1 test red, and its mirror (a split click that also arms
the upsell) 1 test red.

The Répartition (split) button of the Transactions page now belongs to
the `adjustments` feature, as the unlock screen already promised
(upsell.features.adjustments). On the Free edition the button keeps its
place and its icon, carries a lock and opens the locked screen in a
dialog instead of the split window, for every row, split or not. While
the license is not ready it shows no lock and does nothing. Existing
splits stay in the data, counted by the reports and flagged by the
orange icon.
- splitGate.ts: pure splitAccessFor(gate) -> open | locked | pending,
stricter than profileGate: `allowed` does not short-circuit `ready`.
- SplitButton: stateless button that decides what a click opens.
- UpsellDialog: UpsellGate in a named modal dialog, closed by its X and
by "I already have a key".
- TransactionTable: required splitAccess prop. The split window is not
rendered once the edition resolves to Free, and stays mounted through
a license refresh; the upsell is not rendered once it resolves to Base.
- TransactionsPage reads useEntitlement("adjustments").
- ADR 0017 amendment and matrix, user guide, in-app docs (FR, EN),
architecture, entitlements header comment, both changelogs.
Tests: the predicate, the button's markup and click, the dialog, the
table's wiring through the shared hook harness (#409), the page under
the three gate states, and the new key in both locales.

The two visit steps get their card: /categories explains keywords and
points at "All keywords" (never "Reset"), /reports explains the hub and
points at the Trends card, with a padlock variant in the Free edition.
"Got it" acknowledges the step; opening the highlighted Trends card does
too (D17), since following the ring leaves the page.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Two visit steps join the getting-started path: "Browse categories and
keywords" (5th) and "Browse the reports" (8th). Nothing in the database
counts them: they are done by "Got it" on their card, stored as
onboarding_acknowledged_<key> in user_preferences (no migration).
- computeChecklist: eight rows; the visit rows are locked until the
profile's visit steps are initialized, so a finished path does not
flash a "Next step" before they are marked done.
- initializeVisitSteps: once per profile, after the first successful
load with the Budget entitlement known; acknowledges both steps when
every other step is done or skipped, then sets the flag. No
transaction (D16): idempotent writes, the flag last.
- Reducer: ACKNOWLEDGE wins over an older snapshot like SKIP but keeps
the card latch, so the card says "Done." and offers the next step.
- StepCard: "Got it" before "Skip this step" when onAcknowledge is
given; OnboardingStepCard passes it for a visit step.
- Banner counter, card rank and end of path wait for
budgetReady && visitStepsInitialized; the list shows the visit rows
"pending" until then.

The source name typed during configuration was saved, but the next import
looks the source and its imported files up by the subfolder name, so a
renamed source looked new: format guessed again, every file pre-checked,
and a second source created under the folder name.
The name field becomes a read-only SourceNameDisplay showing the subfolder
name with a hint, and executeImport writes selectedSource.folder_name on
create and update, whatever config.name holds, behind a selectedSource
guard. The import card sentence no longer asks to check the source name.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
scan_import_folder now returns ImportFolderScan { sources, root_files }:
the CSV/TXT files at the root, which no source reads, are named in a
warning on the Import page (above the source list, or under the "no
source" empty state). One action sets sources and root files, RESET keeps
both. Names stay on screen, never in the Journal.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The Import empty state now shows an "Expected structure" box in both of its
variants (no folder, folder without sources): the parent folder to choose,
one subfolder per account, and files at its root ignored, as
scan_import_folder reads them. New ImportFolderStructure component, a nested
list with decorative icons.
The getting-started cards ask for the parent folder and one subfolder per
account instead of one per bank. The preview card says that an expense must
count among the outflows and names "Flip the signs" next to "Check
duplicates": WIZARD_ROWS rows now carry every label their sentence names.
Every Import card sentence quotes the controls it names, in French and in
English, pinned by a test that reads the locale files.
Help tips, docs.import.steps, the user guide, the QA list and architecture.md
follow; CHANGELOG entry under Changed.

The small badge next to "Fetch price" on a stock rendered the literal

The 12 test files that already marked their output each carried a copy
of the same fake t. They now use the shared i18nMock; no assertion
changes. LicenseCard keeps its per-test language through a getter.

The 15 test files whose fake t returned the bare key (the 12 of the
issue, plus the three category render tests added by #423) now mock
react-i18next with i18nMock. Assertions naming a displayed text are
rewritten in the marked form, t(key[options]), so a text that skipped
t fails them. Components without such an assertion get one:
PriceFetchControl, PriceFetchConsentToggle (rendered through the hook
harness, its loading slot preset), CategoryDetailPanel, SourceList and
SourceCard, and the region label of OnboardingChecklist.
Each component was proved by a mutation removing one t call: every one
turns at least one test red (exit 1).

useOnboardingChecklist.wiring gains three pins the old stubs could not hold:
one loader for the provider's life (refresh and the shared value keep their
identity, no re-read), 'Skip' moving the next step on the next render, and a
change of mode alone reaching the consumers. UsersSettingsPage now commits
its effects, so an effect that read the preference goes red on the
assertion rather than on 'Invalid hook call'. BudgetTable.wiring,
BudgetPage.wiring, AppShell.slot and OnboardingStepCard drop their local
slot copies; OnboardingStepCard plays StrictMode through replayEffects and
runs its effect only on a changed dependency, which now pins location.key.

- parentOptions.ts: say that this list is the only guard today (updateCategory
checks neither depth nor cycle, #393 will), instead of pointing to a
service-side validation that does not exist yet. The height walk is also
bounded by the number of categories, so a missing cycle guard gives a wrong
height instead of an endless loop; a test edits a member of a cycle.
- AddKeywordDialog.tsx: drop `categoriesLoaded`, which only repeated what the
null initial category already guarantees.
- Tests: the form and the detail panel are pinned to what they hand to
buildParentOptions (editingId, currentParentId), through a pass-through spy.

The review of PR #428 showed that the rule only looked at direct children:
editing a root that carries grandchildren still offered the other roots as
a parent, and saving created a fourth level, which nothing guards against
in updateCategory or moveCategory. The allowed parent depth is now
MAX_PARENT_DEPTH minus the height of the edited sub-tree (0, 1 or 2), so a
category with grandchildren gets no parent at all, only its current one.
Test written first on the reviewer's probe ([1, 10->1, 100->10, 2],
editing 1: [] expected, [2] obtained before the fix).

Fixes#423
The "Parent category" field of CategoryForm and the "Category" field of
AddKeywordDialog were native selects with no typing. Both now use
CategoryCombobox, like the category cell of the Transactions page: typed
letters filter the list, which is ordered hierarchically with indentation
and shows seed categories through their i18n_key.
- CategoryCombobox accepts a minimal structural type (CategoryLike), so
CategoryTreeNode rows pass without conversion; sortHierarchical is
generic over it. Callers are unchanged.
- buildParentOptions (pure, tested) keeps roots and level-1 categories,
leaves out the edited category, and keeps only roots when the edited
category has children. That rule alone also leaves out its descent (a
descendant is never a root), so no separate subtree walk is needed. The
parent currently stored is always kept so the field never looks blank.
CategoryForm gets an editingId prop, passed by CategoryDetailPanel.
- AddKeywordDialog reads the Transactions list (active and inputable,
decision D2) through loadKeywordCategories, keeps the pre-filled
category only when it is in that list (reconcileInitialCategory), and
holds the apply button until the list is in. Its two fields sit above
the scrolling block of matches, so the open list is not clipped by the
scrollport.
- Tests: parentOptions, keywordCategory, and static renders of both
components. Changelogs and the user guide (with its i18n mirror).

On a profile without transactions whose import steps were skipped, the
rows can land before the transaction count, both reads queueing behind
the DB lock: the grid mounted, reported "Expand all", then gave way to
the empty state, and the card kept "Click Expand all…" above it with no
grid on the page. The page now passes no target while it shows the
empty state, and a wiring test replays that sequence. Invisible in dev,
where StrictMode reorders the two reads.
The month test sets the clock to 23:00 on December 31, which is still
December in UTC: under the CI runner's zone, a month read in UTC passed.
The zone is pinned west of Greenwich, as in useImportWizard.test.ts.

The guide and the changelog said the card never says "Done." for an
import that added no transaction. It holds it back on the report only:
on the Import page the card moves from one step to the next, and says
"Done." once the file is imported. The locale test no longer depends on
the order of the sections in the files, which DocsContent ignores.
Resolves#401

DocsContent and DocsSubsections read the guide straight from fr.json and
en.json, but their tests run on fixtures: a string where an array is
expected, a sub-section without its steps or a French list longer than
its English one only showed in the app. DocsContent.locales.test.ts reads
the real files: every section DocsContent renders and no other, the
strings and string arrays it reads, sub-sections that readSubsections
keeps whole, anchors of their own, French and English item for item, and
the path's sub-section in the section "Open the guide" opens.
DocsContent exports SECTIONS for it.

The budget grid opens collapsed and only its leaf rows take an amount,
so the card first points at "Expand all", then at the current month's
cell of the first editable row shown (D12). `budgetOnboardingTarget`
(pure, beside budgetTableResults.ts) decides it from the rows each
section shows, in the order it shows them; the collapse state stays
BudgetTable's own and the card never unfolds the grid.
BudgetTable rings that one control when the page asks
(`onboardingTarget`) and reports its kind through
`onOnboardingTargetChange`, in an effect, at mount and on change only:
the page needs it for the card's sentence before it asks for the ring.
`budgetCardModel(input, checklist)` gives the "collapsed" sentence for
"Expand all", the "flat" one for a cell, no sentence and no ring before
the grid says, and "Done." once the budget step is checked, which the
card needs to end the path. CARD_PAGES gets /budget. BudgetPage renders
the card first, outside the loading dim the grid gets after each save,
and asks for the ring only while the card shows. The Free edition never
mounts the page and never latches it: its path ends at 5/5.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The link of the "categorize by hand" step carries `guided`, which the
Transactions page reads through `readOnboardingNavState` and turns into
start filters: `useTransactions(initialFilters?)` puts them over the
defaults through `initTransactionsState`, at mount only, so the card
consuming the navigation state changes nothing. The guided entry lists
the uncategorized transactions whatever their date (the default filter
starts on January 1st, and in January the sample statements fall in the
previous year). When its first page comes back empty, the reducer drops
"uncategorized only" once: a new filters object, so the existing filter
effect reads again, and the loading placeholder meanwhile. The first
page and any filter the user sets disarm the fallback, so it never loops
and never drops a filter behind the user's back.
`transactionsCardModel(filters, checklist)` says which sentence matches
the list, names the filter by its own label, points at the first row's
category, and says "Done." once the step is checked, which the card
needs to offer the Budget step or the end of the path. The label loses
its capital through an i18next `lowercase` formatter used by the
sentence itself, `{{filter, lowercase}}`.
TransactionTable wraps every row's category in the same element and
puts the ring on the first one only, so the ring coming or going never
remounts the combobox; CategoryCombobox is unchanged. CARD_PAGES gets
/transactions, and the page renders the card first and highlights its
target only while the card shows.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
On the page of the step in progress, a card takes the place of the
banner. `StepCard` is driven by props: an h2 title that takes the focus
("Step n of N", then the step), the page's sentence, a status region
always rendered that receives "Done.", "Skip this step" until the step is
done, then "Next step" or the end of the path. `OnboardingStepCard` is
the only piece that reads the path: it renders on the latched card page
only, so the card survives its own success, focuses its title once per
arrival by "Next step" and consumes the navigation state.
The control to use carries `data-onboarding-highlight`, drawn in
styles.css as a 3px accent outline with a pulse bounded to three cycles
and none under prefers-reduced-motion; a test reads the stylesheet and
checks 3:1 against the background and the cards in both themes. The
target is passed by props to EmptyState's primary action, the first
SourceList card and WizardNavigation's next button, never queried.
`importCardModel` reads the wizard and the checklist in order: importing
before the counters, a report that added nothing as a failure, and the
"steps 3 and 4 checked" row at rest, where it can apply. CARD_PAGES gets
/import; the Import page builds the input, renders the card first and
highlights the model's target only while the card shows, and its empty
state waits for the folder to be read.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The getting-started path now follows the user: AppShell mounts
OnboardingBanner at the top of <main>, in the page flow, and the
provider's mode keeps it off a hidden path, the dashboard of a profile
without transactions, a page that carries a step card and the first
load. The banner shows "Getting started n/N" once the Budget
entitlement is known, the next step linked with its navigation state,
"Show the list", which unfolds the detailed list in place, and "Hide";
at the end, the closing message, "Open the guide" and "Close". Each
route mounts its own banner slot, so a page always starts folded.
The dashboard's compact bar and the compact mode of
OnboardingChecklist are gone (D7). The detailed list reads each state
out to screen readers, shows a skipped step with its badge and
"Resume", and gives every link to a step the same navigation state
(stepNavState), with the guided entry for the manual category.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The checklist state moves from DashboardPage to OnboardingProvider, mounted
in AppShell around the routed page; pages read it through useOnboarding().
The reducer stays in useOnboardingChecklist:
- loads are numbered and a stale answer is ignored;
- HIDE, SHOW, SKIP and RESUME win over the snapshot of a load started
before them (#384);
- a refresh keeps the counters and the ready status, and a failed re-read
after a first success keeps the last state; only the start of a failure
streak is logged;
- re-read at mount, on every route change and 150 ms after a burst of
data events.
onboardingService: getOnboardingSnapshot replaces getOnboardingCounters and
is a pure read (skipped steps included, one preference per step, filtered on
the six keys and the value "1"); initializeGuidedPath applies rule D9 once
per profile in one transaction (hidden first, then the flag, ROLLBACK on
failure), awaited once by the first load through a promise shared by
StrictMode's double mount; skipStep / resumeStep are idempotent.
computeChecklist counts skipped rows; the new pure onboardingPath module
holds nextStep, CARD_PAGES (empty for now), stepsOfPage, the card latch,
bannerMode and readOnboardingNavState. The dashboard reads the context and
keeps its compact bar for now.

Follow-ups of the three /pr-review passes on #386, #387 and #388, applied
on the stack head before the fast-forward merge:
- #386: pin the relay of the revoked state by revocationCheckLauncher
(a launcher passing false instead of wasRevoked passed the whole suite),
and say in the rate budget comment that two checks in one minute bring
the machine-limit path to 6 requests.
- #387 S1: the fake `t` of the removal tests and of the License card tests
marks what it translates, so a string that skipped `t` fails its test.
- #387 S2: pin that storing another key stops on Storage while the
previous token cannot be dropped, the previous key staying.
- #387 S3: reload the license context after a failed removal too. Rust
deletes the key first, so a token that resisted left the key gone while
the card kept showing it under "the key was not removed".
- #388: pin that an unreadable token stays (the directory case could not
tell, its deletion fails anyway).
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
"Remove the key" on the License card removes license.key, then the
activation token, and keeps license.check, so a revoked key removed then
entered again stays Free. Removing the key stops the revocation check,
which until now only storing another key could stop.
When this machine is activated with a valid key, its slot is freed on
the license server first (remove_license with release_slot). A release
that fails removes nothing; on network, server, rate_limit or
invalid_response the card asks whether to remove the key anyway, the
slot then staying occupied. no_active_activation, license_not_found and
license_revoked (recorded for the key sent) mean the slot is free.
- Rust: remove_license / remove_license_in, release_this_machine_slot,
this_machine_token_id, and the shared remove_activation_token_in
helper, now also used by store_license_in and the deactivation.
- Front: removeLicense service; performRemoveLicense in
useLicenseMachines (confirmations by state, error table, in-app log
lines); removing and removeError in the machines reducer, which lock
key entry, Activate and Deactivate; the button for any stored key,
valid or revoked.
- Docs: user guide, in-app tips, architecture, ADR 0017 amendment,
changelogs.

The import page without a source no longer shows a bare "no source found"
card. `ImportEmptyState` (built on the shared `EmptyState`) takes the place
of the empty `SourceList` in both situations: without an import folder it
offers "Choose a folder" as the single primary action; with a folder and no
bank sub-folder it offers "Create a sample folder" (primary, disabled while
in flight) and "Refresh" (secondary). Both variants, and the "?" help
popover through the new optional `linkTo` prop of `PageHelp`, link to the
bank CSV export guide at `/settings/users#import-export`. `SourceList`
stays an untouched pure list.
`useImportWizard` gains `createSampleFolders`: it invokes the Rust command
`create_sample_import_folders` with the folder and the webview's LOCAL date
(built from the local getters, not `toISOString()`), rescans the folder so
the two cards appear without another click, then raises a closable success
banner from the new `sampleCreated` state, which `reset` and a folder change
clear. A refusal from Rust (a sample folder already exists) lands in the
existing error banner. The log line carries the folder NAMES only, never
the absolute path, since the logs travel with a feedback report.
"Browse" on the folder card drops to the secondary style while no folder is
configured, so a single primary button is on screen. The reducer and its
initial state are exported as `wizardReducer` / `initialWizardState` and
unit-tested; `ImportEmptyState` is tested by direct call.

Add an optional `subsections` array to a user-guide section, rendered by
the new pure `DocsSubsections` component between the "How to" block and
the tips. Each entry has an id, a title, an optional italic status line,
an ordered list of steps and an optional trailing note. The ids are
registered in `sectionRefs` of `DocsContent`, so the existing hash
navigation (`/settings/users#import-export`) reaches the sub-sections
too. Only the Import section declares the key; the eleven other
sections render exactly as before.
The Import section gets six blocks in French and English: a generic
"export a CSV from your bank" block, then Desjardins, Tangerine, RBC,
National Bank and BMO with their verification status. The National Bank
and BMO blocks, which ask the user to send a header line through the
feedback form, carry the warning never to paste an account number, a
balance or a real transaction, in the JSON files and in the markdown
guide alike.
`docs/guide-utilisateur.md` receives the same six blocks in chapter 4,
a mention of the "Create a sample folder" button in its "How to", and a
"Quick start" in chapter 1 rewritten as the six steps of the
getting-started checklist, same order and wording as
`onboarding.checklist.items.*`.
`DocsSubsections.test.tsx` calls the component directly (no jsdom):
null for a section without sub-sections, one block per entry with its
id and ref registration, status line and note rendered only when
present, malformed entries dropped.

A profile without any transaction now opens a dashboard that says what to
do: a welcome card with the expanded getting-started checklist and one
primary action towards the import page, instead of widgets showing 0 $.
With transactions, the compact checklist sits between the title and the
filter panel until it is complete or dismissed.
- `EmptyState` (pure, dashed card from the import source list; a `to`
action renders a react-router `<Link>`, an `onClick` action a button)
- `OnboardingChecklist` (pure, expanded and compact modes; undone rows
link to their route, the locked Budget row shows a lock, the "Base and
up" label and links to the license card; neutral budget row and hidden
counter until the entitlement is known)
- `DashboardEmptyState` composes both
- `DashboardPage` branches on the hook `status`: loading renders the title,
help and banner only; error falls back to the v0.15.0 page without the
list and logs a warning; ready with zero transactions renders the empty
state outside the `isLoading` veil
- `useOnboardingChecklist` exposes `counters` and `error` for the page
- Users settings: "Show the getting-started checklist" button in the Guide
section, visible only when the preference is set, with an inline
confirmation after the click
- FR + EN keys `dashboard.empty.*`, `onboarding.checklist.*`,
`settings.users.onboarding.*`
Tests: `EmptyState.test.tsx` and `OnboardingChecklist.test.tsx` by direct
call (FilterPanel pattern). No DB migration. CHANGELOG left to #357.

- A state file that cannot be written now has a test on both of its paths:
the attempt (nothing is sent, or a read-only data directory would send a
request at every start) and the verdict (the key is not reported revoked
when nothing on disk says so). The first path was correct but unguarded:
the review's mutation left all 185 tests green.
- The storage outcome no longer claims that nothing was sent: it also covers
a verdict that could not be written. Reworded in licenseService.ts, the
in-app log line and docs/architecture.md.
- The Updates card names a revoked key in its Free branch, between the
message and the CTAs: a refunded Base buyer first meets the loss of
automatic updates there (Max, 2026-10-03). The error page stays as it is.
- A revoked key keeps being checked once per 24 h while it stays stored, so
that a correction made on the license server is picked up (Max,
2026-10-03). Declared in the user guide, the in-app docs, the changelogs
and the ADR 0017 amendment.

A refunded license was revoked on the server but kept working in the app:
the edition is resolved offline from the key alone, and the flag added by
#347 lasted the session only and never touched the edition.
Rust
- license.check, next to the key, holds what the license server last said
about it: {key_sha256, attempted_at, revoked}. Never the key itself. A
missing, unreadable or invalid file, or a state about another key, reads
as "no state": not revoked, check due.
- entitlements_from_dir resolves a revoked key to ("free", []), which also
locks auto-update. read_license and store_license report the state.
- check_license_revocation: POST /v1/licenses/verify with the product and
the key only. Nothing is sent without a stored key that validates, nor
within 24 h of the last attempt, which is written before the request.
Fail-open: only "valid" lifts the state, only "revoked" sets it.
- Activation, machine list and deactivation record a license_revoked answer
under the key they sent.
- fetch_price reads error.code of a 403 and names license_revoked instead of
premium_required. It records nothing: the price route judges the license
of the activation token, which the client cannot tie to the stored key,
and 0.15.0 left the token of a previous key next to a new one (#367).
Front
- LicenseContext takes the revoked state from Rust (info.revoked); the
session flag and markRevoked are gone. The check starts once per app
start, writes its outcome to the in-app log, and reloads the context only
when the state changed. A revoked key entered again stays Free.
- UpsellGate and the License card name the revocation.

its bounds), architecture, user guide, price contract annex, changelogs.

Activation sent `machine_uid::get()` as is: /etc/machine-id on Linux,
MachineGuid on Windows. machine-id(5) calls that id confidential and asks
applications to send a keyed hash under a fixed, application-specific key
instead. The license server stores what it receives next to the license
email and the host name, lists it back and signs it into the activation
token.
- derive_machine_id: HMAC-SHA256 under a frozen key, 64 lowercase hex
characters, pinned by two reference vectors. An empty OS id is refused,
never hashed.
- Activation sends the derived identifier and requires the issued token to
carry it. Nothing else originates a machine identifier.
- A machine activated before this change stays activated: a valid token
whose claim is the raw id of this machine still reads "Activated" (D1).
- The machine list flags `is_this_machine` in Rust, for a row under either
identifier (D3). `ActivationStatus` no longer carries an identifier and
the unused `get_machine_id` command is removed: no command hands the OS
id to the webview any more.
- After a deactivation the local token is dropped when it stood for the
freed slot: any row of this machine takes it, except the old raw row
while the token stands for the derived one.
- ADR 0020 records the derivation, the transition and the condition for
removing the raw-id compatibility.
Behaviour changes beyond the issue text: the machine list and a
deactivation no longer fail on an unreadable OS id (best effort), the
activation status then reads "not activated" instead of failing, and the
unused `store_activation_token` command refuses a token issued for the
raw id.
No new dependency (hmac and sha2 were already declared); Cargo.lock is
untouched. Rust 151 -> 168 tests, vitest 1311 -> 1314.

- Key entry and machine activation can no longer overlap. An activation
in flight writes the token of the key it read: a key stored meanwhile
ended up next to the previous key's token, the dead end 3f90635
closes. "Enter a key" and the form's submit are disabled while an
activation runs (LicenseKeyForm gains a busy prop), and "Activate"
while a key is being stored.
- The "Activated" badge is hidden for a revoked key: the server
deactivated every machine of the license.
- ADR 0017: the #347 amendment also points at section 1, which still
mentions the machine-binding downgrade.

- store_license_in drops activation.token when the stored key changes.
The token names the previous license to the price server (its sub is
the license id, the key carries the email), so the card showed the
machine as activated while prices were refused for the old license.
The same key entered again keeps its token; a refused key changes
nothing.
- get_activation_status goes through activation_status_in(dir,
machine_id, key), tested in a temporary directory: a missing,
expired, foreign-machine, foreign-key or unreadable token reads as
not activated. It alone decides "Not activated" and "Activate".
- LicenseCard is keyed by licenseIdentity(info): another key remounts
the body, which re-reads the activation and drops the previous key's
machine list.
- invalidSignature asks to check the copy first. jsonwebtoken checks
the signature before decoding the payload, so a damaged copy often
reads as a signature failure (characterization test). User guide and
changelogs aligned.
- Render tests: the other errors stay visible under Machines, and the
edition's green check gives way to an alert for a revoked key.

Rust (license_commands.rs)
- LicenseError gains InvalidPrefix, InvalidSignature, Malformed and
UnknownEdition. validate_with_key returns it (ExpiredSignature maps
to LicenseExpired), and store_license, read_license and
validate_license_key reject with the same JSON as the network
commands. store_license_in and read_license_in take a directory, so
the Storage mapping is tested at the source.
- D12: the edition comes from the license key alone.
resolve_license_entitlements no longer takes the activation token,
and current_entitlements reads only license.key
(entitlements_from_dir). A token that had expired (2-year server
lifetime) or came from another machine (restored data) used to drop
a valid key to free, while a key copied without its token kept its
edition. get_activation_status and persist_activation_token keep the
strict token validation, and the key keeps its strict validation
(CWE-613).
Front
- LicenseCard names the load error, and LicenseKeyForm (extracted so a
static render reaches it) names a refused key, through
parseLicenseError: no raw backend string reaches the card.
- D13: a license_revoked answer is recorded in LicenseContext for the
whole session, because the card unmounts when the user leaves
Settings > Users. Only a different key clears it. Card-level
message, alert icon, Activate disabled through selectCanActivate.
- Machine counter n/limit, "Not activated", activating and
deactivating labels, dates in fr-CA/en-CA, and "No expiry date"
beyond 50 years (licenseExpiry.ts, for the 100-year keys of
maximus-api#63).
- license.removeLicense and license.machines.activateError removed;
the price authFailed message points to activating the machine.
Tests: 15 new Rust tests (resolution from a data directory, named
variants, the 100-year key of #363, a key without exp) replace 3
machine-binding tests; vitest covers the card and form renders, the
context revocation, the hook wiring and the locales.

valid Base key to free on 5d549d6).

- Render tests for the upsell CTAs (UpsellCtas.render.test.tsx): the
reviewer's probe, which needs no jsdom (react-dom/server in the node
environment, plus the FilterPanel.test.tsx pattern of calling a
component as a function). It pins the Base/Premium CTA on UpsellGate,
the router guard of HaveKeyButton, the localized product URL, the
Premium note and the onNavigate forwarding, none of which the suite
guarded before.
- A failure to open the browser (openUrl) is now logged through
logError in PurchaseButton, DownloadLatestButton and LicenseCard,
instead of vanishing as an unhandled rejection that never reaches the
in-app logs. Tested for both shared buttons.
- upsellCtaFor: comment the trap in making Premium purchasable, since
PurchaseButton sells Base only.
- ADR 0017 amendment: the Account card text holds in practice only;
current_entitlements still grants Premium to an active subscription,
a dormant path until a subscription is sold.
- User guide and in-app docs: the purchase step now comes before the
key entry, and the Balance button is named "Get Premium".
- CHANGELOG: "Maximus Account" in English, "every screen that requires
it" in both files (the Balance screen sells nothing), and the French
elision before a guillemet.

- upsellCtaFor(tier) decides what a locked screen offers: Base is
purchasable, Premium stays disabled with "Premium isn't sold online
yet". Pure and tested on the whole entitlements matrix.
- Shared CTAs, one component per file: PurchaseButton ("Get Base") and
DownloadLatestButton open the localized product page (purchaseUrl) and
need no router; HaveKeyButton renders only inside BrowserRouter.
- UpsellGate uses them; the purchase link never calls onNavigate, so
modal hosts stay open. ProfileFormModal reuses UpsellGate instead of
its compact panel, keeps its Cancel button, and closes after "I
already have a key" (onNavigate={onClose}).
- In Free, the Updates card offers Get Base, I already have a key and
Download the latest version; the error page (outside the router)
offers Get Base and the download link. No update check, no network
call.
- i18n FR/EN: Account card text, Premium note, Updates notEntitled text,
download label, editions guide step and tip; the "coming soon" note
key is gone. Tests pin the upsell key set and the decided texts.

- The idempotent-deactivation test now pins the route's other 404:
license_not_found stays an error. The previous negative case was a
403 that the deactivate route never returns, so swallowing
license_not_found (an unknown key shown as deactivated, the local
token deleted) went unnoticed.
- A test deactivates this machine and checks that the re-read activation
status brings the Activate button back. Removing that re-read used to
leave the suite green.
- The Activate button stays disabled while the list loads
(selectCanActivate), the counterpart of selectCanDeactivate: a verify
answer landing after a successful activation can no longer mark as
fresh a list that misses this machine.
- CHANGELOG: the old /simpl-resultat address is redirected by the site
since la-compagnie-maximus#153, so the "Buy" bullet now says the
button opens the product page directly, in the app's language. The
test comment is moved to the past tense.

- A 404 without a known code (missing route, proxy error page) is now
pinned as a server error by two table rows, so "key not found" can
never be shown for it.
- The message-key test spells out the expected key of every code
instead of comparing the map with itself, and checks the keys are
distinct: swapping two entries now fails.
- Idempotent deactivation moves into deactivate_idempotent, without
AppHandle, tested against a mock server (404 no_active_activation ->
done, 403 revoked -> error).
- Deactivate buttons stay disabled while the list reloads
(selectCanDeactivate), so a machine deactivated during a reload
cannot reappear.
- The rate-limit message uses i18next plural forms (rateLimit_one /
rateLimit_other with count): no more "1 seconds".
- CHANGELOG: drop the bullet about the edition updating after an
activation. The edition does not change with or without an
activation token, so nothing is observable; refresh() stays.

- Activation, deactivation and verify POST to /v1/licenses/* with
"product":"simpl-resultat" instead of the legacy /licenses/* paths,
which cost a 308 on every call.
- New LicenseError enum, serialized as {code} like FetchPriceError and
read from error.code of the /v1 envelope. A 200 {valid:false} from
verify is now a coded refusal instead of an empty machine list, and an
HTML error page on a non-2xx maps to server instead of
invalid_response. Deactivation is idempotent: no_active_activation
counts as done.
- The three calls live in *_inner functions without AppHandle, tested
against a mockito server that only declares the /v1 routes.
- useLicenseMachines hook with an exported reducer. The activation error
survives the list load it triggers (machine_limit_reached opens the
list), a deactivation removes the machine locally without re-running
verify (4 requests on the machine-limit path, under the server's
5/min/IP limit), and refresh() follows every successful activation or
deactivation.
- license.errors.* in FR and EN; purchaseUrl() opens
/{fr|en}/produits/simpl-resultat.
test: reproduces #270. Each original defect, reintroduced on the final
tree, turns tests red: legacy activate path 5, missing product 2,
envelope read as a string 3, verify valid:false as an empty list 2,
strict body parse on a non-2xx 2, untrimmed key 1, list load clearing
the activation error 4, verify re-run after deactivation 2, empty state

Exporting then re-importing data destroyed every import configuration:
dataExportService serialised only categories, suppliers, keywords and
transactions, then ran DELETE FROM import_sources on restore and replaced
them with a synthetic 'Data Import' source. After restoring a backup, every
source had to be reconfigured by hand.
- Serialise import_sources and import_config_templates into the envelope,
with an explicit format_version; a file without one is the earlier format
and its missing arrays are treated as empty.
- Wrap wipe + restore in withTransaction, which the service had nowhere:
a constraint violation mid-restore used to destroy financial history with
no rollback.
- Restore templates BEFORE sources (template_id is a foreign key), upserting
by name and remapping template_id through the resolved ids, so restoring
into a profile that already has templates no longer hits UNIQUE(name).
- Whitelist amount_mode and sign_convention at the import boundary with a
readable message rather than an SQLite constraint error.
Resolves#331
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Two failure modes, both anchored on the header row.
A KNOWN BANK IS NOW READ BY NAME. `bankSignatures.ts` declares the
documented export layout of Desjardins, RBC, Banque Nationale and
Tangerine as a set of normalized header labels plus a delimiter and a
preamble quirk. The table is evaluated BEFORE the generic dictionary and
an unknown file falls straight through to it, unchanged.
The signatures are not decorative. The generic dictionary matches
keywords as substrings, one role at a time, which reads two of these
four layouts wrong — both frozen as counterfactual test pairs, same
rows, header renamed:
- Tangerine writes `Date,Transaction,Name,Memo,Amount`. `Transaction`
is a description keyword, so every row of the file was labelled with
its direction word instead of the merchant.
- RBC writes its amount column `CAD$`, which no amount keyword
matches, next to a nearly empty `Cheque Number`. Those two are
sparse-complementary, so the shape scan paired them as debit/credit
and the one row carrying a cheque number imported as -247.95 instead
of -6.95.
A signature stays a set of PREFERENCES all the same: they are written
from documented layouts, without real statements, so every hint is
dropped the moment the data contradicts it. The single exception is the
amount mode, which outranks the sparse-complementary scan — nothing
inside an RBC file can tell that pair from a genuine one — and even that
is refused unless the declared columns are candidates the shape scan
proposed. Failing degrades to the generic path; it never breaks.
FORMAT DRIFT IS NOW REPORTED INSTEAD OF IMPORTED. Every successful
import records the normalized labels of its header row in
`import_sources.header_signature`, as a JSON array and not a hash: the
panel has to be able to name the columns that moved. On the next import,
a header that normalizes differently opens a `FormatDriftPanel` above
the preview — column by column, `Montant : 3 -> 4` — with the two
outcomes that exist: adopt the re-detected format, or keep the stored
one. A cosmetic rename (`Montant` -> `MONTANT ($)`) normalizes
identically and says nothing.
A source whose file has no header row keeps `header_signature` NULL and
drift detection is inoperative on it. Documented, not worked around:
a signature invented from the data would fire on every import.
THE REPAIR PATH IS NOW IN THE INTERFACE, in the drift panel and beside
the preview's sign flip. `findDuplicates` matches on date AND
description AND amount, so re-importing a file "now that it reads right"
does not correct the rows already written — it doubles them, and a
flipped sign produces mirror pairs that net to zero in every report. The
only safe path is deleting the faulty import from the history first.
The drift re-detection reuses `detectFormatForFile`, so there is still
exactly one detector; the static guard on its caller count moves from
two to three deliberately. Its score and bank badge are dropped straight
after: they measure the format the panel offers, not the one in use.
Resolves#330
A confidence score reports how many rows were READ, never what they say:
the `all-positive` fixture scores a perfect 100 % while every credit is
imported as an expense, because each of those rows is perfectly readable.
Nothing between that score and the database looked at the signs — the
preview was an optional modal of 20 rows with no totals, and the final
confirmation listed the delimiter and the date format but neither the
amount mode nor the sign convention.
The `file-preview` step had been declared in `ImportWizardStep` since the
beginning and no dispatch ever aimed at it. It is a real step now,
traversed at every import and gated by nothing — in particular not by the
detection score, which is sign-blind by construction.
- `useImportWizard`: `parseAndPreview` parses and stops at the preview,
replacing `parsePreview` and the `parseAndCheckDuplicates` that jumped
straight to the duplicates ("skips preview step"); `checkDuplicates`,
dead code until now, is the preview's next button, so the rows the user
validated are the rows that get checked.
- `summarizeParsedRows`: the recap, pure and tested — outflows and their
total, inflows and theirs, rows in error. Totals stay SIGNED, since
magnitudes would hide the one thing the recap exists to expose. Computed
over the whole file, never over the twenty rows displayed.
- `flipSignFormat` + "Inverser les signes": the correction lands on the
CONFIGURATION, so it is persisted with the source and the next file from
that bank reads right on its own. In debit/credit mode it swaps the two
column indices rather than toggling a convention `mapRow` ignores there,
where a toggle would have been inert.
- `ImportConfirmation` states the amount mode, the sign convention (in the
mode that applies it) and the column mapping, named by header.
- `FilePreviewModal` removed: it was the redundant surface, and editing
the table alone would have mutated a still-live copy of it.
The `all-positive` KNOWN DEFECT marker is dropped rather than deleted. Its
three original expectations still hold — an unsigned file carries no
direction and detection cannot invent one — and two cases were added: the
recap tell (six outflows, zero inflows) and the honest limit, that
flipping this particular file only produces its mirror image.
1088 vitest (1054 before), tsc and vite build clean. No DB migration.
Resolves#329
Detection handed back a configuration it had never tested, and only ever
ran behind the magic-wand button. A source opened for the first time
therefore started on `defaultConfig` — `;`, `DD/MM/YYYY`, columns 0/1/2 —
plausible enough to import a whole file wrong rather than fail visibly.
`detectImportFormat` now REPLAYS what it just decided over every data row
of the file and returns the rate as a `DetectionScore`. The replay runs
`mapRow`, the same pure function `parseFilesInternal` runs at import time,
under the same column-level decimal arbitration: two mappers would be the
exact divergence this chantier removes — a score reading 100 % while the
import wrote different amounts. A test asserts the two agree row for row
on every fixture of the corpus.
The threshold is 90 %, and it only colours the banner. Below it the panel
warns and prints the detailed count ("132 of 150 rows read"); at or above
it the banner is neutral. Nothing is blocked, because a perfect score says
nothing about the SIGN of what was read — `all-positive` scores 100 %
while every credit imports as an expense — and the preview step (#329) is
the real net, traversed at every import.
Detection now also fires on its own, guarded on `!existing`: a source that
has never been configured. A source that HAS one is never re-detected, the
stored format wins. The condition is deliberately not `!restored` — a
stored format that fails to decode already reports its own error, and
detecting over it would replace that message with a silent guess.
The button and the automatic run share one `detectFormatForFile`, so the
button replays detection instead of running a second, drifting variant of
it. The score is cleared when its source changes, when the format is
edited by hand (compared through the codec, so a rename keeps it) and when
a template overwrites the format — a banner vouching for a configuration
nobody measured is the misinformation it exists to remove.
Finally, the sign-convention selector is hidden in debit/credit mode.
`mapRow` computes `credit - debit` on magnitudes there and never reads
`signConvention`, so the control changed nothing. Hidden, not reset: the
stored value is left untouched.
Tests: 1054 vitest (+20), build and cargo check green. No DB migration.
CHANGELOG and docs are centralized in link 10 of the stack per the plan.
Resolves#328
Three ways an imported amount could be silently wrong, all of them passing
validation, all of them fixed here.
The two-column rule was `isNaN(credit) ? -debit : credit`, so the credit always
won. Many banks write `0,00` in the unused column rather than leaving it empty,
and `isNaN(0)` is false -- every debit of such a file imported as 0,00 and the
expense simply vanished, with no error anywhere. The rule is `credit - debit` on
magnitudes now, which needs no special case for a `0,00` cell (zero is the
identity of the subtraction) and implements the documented convention even when
an export negates its debits. A row unreadable in BOTH columns is an error
instead of a free 0,00 transaction.
`parseFrenchAmount` ended on `parseFloat`, which returns the longest valid
PREFIX instead of rejecting. Measured before the fix: `"50,00-"` -> 5000,
`"1 234,56 CR"` -> 123456, `"100,00 CAD"` -> 10000. A factor-100 error, and it
passes `isNaN`, so those rows counted as VALID everywhere downstream -- which
would have defeated the signed preview (#329), the safety net of the whole
chantier. Validation is anchored over the whole normalized string now and any
residual character yields NaN.
NaN, not a rescued magnitude, for a trailing `CR`/`DB` or currency code. Two
reasons: `CR`/`DB` carry a DIRECTION, so returning a magnitude for both would
trade a loud failure for a silent SIGN error (the D/C-indicator shape is refused
upstream by design, #328); and `"100,00 CAD"` is structurally identical to
`"2025 Montant"`, so whitelisting a trailing word to rescue the first re-blinds
`detectHeader` on the second. Two accounting forms ARE legitimate and supported:
parentheses `(50,00)` and a trailing sign `50,00-`.
The `?? 0` fallbacks read column 0 -- usually the date -- when the mapping was
incomplete. An unmapped amount column is an explicit row error now, reported
ahead of any per-row problem since it is a format error affecting every row.
`1.234` is 1234 in a French column and 1.234 in an English one, and no rule
applied to that cell ALONE can tell. `detectDecimalSeparator` arbitrates from
the decisive siblings of the column and `parseFrenchAmount` takes the verdict as
an option. Detection deliberately stays out of it: it runs before a column is
known to be an amount column at all, so the verdict is applied where the value
actually becomes a transaction.
The rule itself moves out of the hook as a pure `mapRow(raw, format)` in
`importFormat.ts`. That is what lets the corpus tests run the REAL rule -- the
hand-written mirror in `csvAutoDetect.test.ts` and the static guard pinning five
`parseFilesInternal` expressions are both deleted -- and what stops the
detection score (#328) and the signed preview (#329) each re-implementing it.
Hardening is global: the parser is shared by 11 call sites, 8 in
`csvAutoDetect.ts` and 3 in the holdings CSV import (#245), where a price cell
`150,25 CAD` used to store 15025. It is refused now and `buildDetailedLines`
raises on the empty price. An unreadable QUANTITY was worse -- coerced to 0, so a
zero-value position saved in silence; the draft keeps the offending text instead
and the existing `snapshot_priced_quantity_required` fires.
Row errors become i18n keys (`import.rowErrors.*`) rather than the raw English
literals rendered straight into the preview table, since this adds a
user-visible string. The report table also carries raw exception messages, so
both render sites resolve through `isRowErrorKey` and never feed `t()` anything
that is not ours.
Test churn, per link 1's handoff (update the expectation, drop the marker, never
delete the test): the three `#325` KNOWN DEFECT blocks in `amountParser.test.ts`
flip, plus `unused-column-zero` in `csvAutoDetect.test.ts`. One block tagged
`#328` flips too -- `header-numeric-label`, whose own comment reads "#328 adds a
lexical signal to detectHeader, and #325 anchors the parser [...] either fix
closes this". The anchored parser landed first. The other `#328` blocks
(`debit-credit-reversed`, `absolute-indicator`) and the `#329` block are
verified unchanged. CHANGELOG and docs stay centralized in the last link of the
stack, as the plan specifies.
